John C. Campbell Folk School Empty Bowls

After a nearly two-year hiatus, we are happy to be together again for our annual Empty Bowls event here at John C. Campbell Folk School. We are excited to continue this tradition and raise awareness about hunger in our communities. All profits from the event will benefit three food banks that serve Clay and Cherokee counties: the Sharing Center in Murphy, Cherokee County Food Bank, and Clay County Food Pantry. The 2019 event generated $11,000, and we hope to raise even more this year. The 2023 event is scheduled for Saturday, May 20th, in the Festival Barn at the Folk School. The event will begin at 4 pm with bowl preview and selection and will end at 6:30 PM when Brown Bag Raffle winners are announced. Tickets are $40.00 and will be available for purchase on the Folk School website starting on April 3rd and will include soup, salad, bread, beverage, and a handmade bowl.
