Description

Planetarium Show and Star Identification ... Instructor Lauren Albin

Course fee $15. (Requires ICL membership - $30 annually if not already a member).

Enjoy the watching "Moons: Worlds of Mystery" in the Rollins Planetarium. "Moons: Worlds of Mystery" takes a look at the dynamic and sometimes dangerous moons found in our solar system. Some of these moons even have the potential for life, like Jupiter's icy moons Europa, Callisto, & Ganymede. The moons of our solar system are strange and fascinating worlds, equally as exciting as the planets they orbit. After the show we will use the Chronos and digital projection systems to take a look at the evening sky and how to find the season's best stars and constellations.

Lauren Albin earned her MS in Space Studies with an emphasis in astronomy from American Public University and her MFA in poetry from Arizona State University. She is director of the O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium and instructor of astronomy at Young Harris College. Before stepping into her role at YHC, she worked as a staff astronomer at Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta and taught English and Creative Writing at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
