Celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day with a concert performance by Irish group Red-Haired Mary on Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the John C. Campbell Folk School Keith House Community Room. Red-Haired Mary is not-so-green anymore, having performed on Folk School stages regularly over the last decade, playing traditional and contemporary Celtic music. Members of the band include Nancy Acuff on flute and tin whistle, Alycia Petrone on fiddle, Terry Schomer on bouzouki, guitar, and bones, Margaret Scanlan on piano and Tom Scanlan bass and bodhran. After the concert, follow the fun on up the hill to the Crown Restaurant for a toast and a round of song. Hosts Dave Peters and Brian Mitchell will lead the Annual Pub Sing. Grab one of the lyric sheets, a bowl of fries, and sing along around the fire. Check the online calendar for the most up to date event listings at folkschool.org/calendar Lineup and schedule are subject to change. A donation of $5-15 per adult is suggested for most events, but all are welcome regardless of contribution. The Folk School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and any funds raised support traditional arts and help with equitable pay for performers.
