Description

STRENGTH AND STRUGGLE LESSONS IN CHARACTER FROM THE STORIES OF OUR PROPHETS by Rabbi Yonatan Hambourger

Cost: $20

Heroes and prophets from the Bible are so famous that they have become almost stereotyped. This prevents any attempt at deeper understanding. “Strength and Struggle” delves into six of the most misunderstood biblical personalities by allowing their characters to emerge in their full depth by drawing upon classic commentaries from the Midrash, the Talmud, and a plethora of mystical teachings from our greatest sages. As their spiritual heirs, by immersing in the stories of these six figures we make their lives part of us, raising questions, sparking insights, awakening emotions, and influencing the course of our lives as well.  Lesson 1 - King Jepthah: Gaining Perspective Lesson 2 - King Saul: Qualities of a Leader Lesson 3 - Ruth, the righteous princess: Commitment and Sacrifice Lesson 4 - King David: Dealing with Mistakes Lesson 5 - The prophets Elijah and Elisha: Simplicity Lesson 6 - Jonah & the whale: A Rendezvous with Destiny Rabbi Yonatan Ariel Hambourger recently moved to Georgia from California after a long and distinguished career in an advisory capacity to other Rabbis; as well as managing the operations of one of the largest Chabad synagogues in Los Angeles, California. Rabbi Yonatan volunteers his services to Chabad of Rural Georgia and excels at connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and supporting them in their quest for more meaning and success in life.
