Each year Young Harris College hosts a Community Resource Fair as a way to introduce the students to the Young Harris area and surrounding towns and cities. Businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations will be at the Fair to connect with the students and let them know what the area offers.
“We basically have more than 1,000 newcomers to the area each fall, so we want to try to introduce them to what’s here,” said Meridith Davis, director of career and professional development. Davis also chairs the committee that organizes the Fair each year. “Whether it’s showing the students where the restaurants are, or the local churches, or helping them find somewhere to volunteer, the Fair is a great way to meet the community.”
