2026 Jail N Bail Fundraiser
Presented by the Clay County NC Chamber of Commerce
Thursday, April 2, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
YOU’RE UNDER ARREST… FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
Local law enforcement will be “arresting” community leaders, business owners, and other good-natured suspects and locking them up at Clay County Historical & Arts Council’s historic Old Jail, all to raise bail in support of the Clay County NC Chamber of Commerce.
The Crime:
Caring too much about our community and supporting local businesses!
The Sentence:
Locked up at the Old Jail 21 Davis Loop Rd, Hayesville, NC 28904
Each “inmate” must raise a minimum of $800 in bail (donations) to be released.
All funds go directly toward the Chamber’s programs and mission to support our local business community.
How It Works:
“Inmates” are arrested by local law enforcement and taken to a jail cell at the Old Jail Museum.
Once behind bars, they’ll call friends, family, coworkers, and customers to help post bail and earn their freedom!
Get Involved:
Volunteer to be an inmate.
Nominate your boss, coworker, or a local personality to be “arrested.”
Make a donation toward someone’s bail—or directly to the Chamber.
