SUMMARY:BRASSTOWN COMMUNITY CENTER FOOD PANTRY
DESCRIPTION:The Brasstown Community Food Pantry has expanded. Maggie Butler from Matt's Ministry reached out to Jerry Sullivan\, President of the Clay County Food Pantry and he has joined with Matt's Ministry to provide a second Food Pantry each month. That means that every other Thursday there will be a Pantry in Brasstown. We much appreciate the generosity of both of these groups. There is no sign up or income requirement to be part of this pantry. If you are experiencing food insecurity\, please come and visit our Pantry. All that is asked of you is for you to provide a last name\, how many are in your family and what county you live in. The food is set up on tables for you and all you have to do is select food that you and your family enjoy. If possible\, it would be helpful if you could bring bags to carry your food in. We have wagons and carts to help you as you shop. Manna\, which supplies our food\, had their warehouse in Asheville destroyed during Hurricane Helene. They have secured another warehouse\, but it is a bit further from us so we have had to change our hours of operation. We are open from 11:30-12:30. Our Pantries have moved indoors. Just park and come into the main entrance of the Brasstown Community Civic Center. If you can't make it to our Pantries on Thursdays there are other options available to you: The Clay County Food Pantry(828) 389-1637\, 2278 Hinton Center Rd in Hayesville distributes food on Fridays between 9:00am-Noon. Additionally Matt's Ministry (828) 361-9083\, 129 WJ Cabe Road in Hayesville distributes food on Saturdays between 9:30-Noon. There are several volunteers who are willing and able to help you in anyway they can. Our volunteers help out in so many ways. Without these wonderful and dedicated volunteers our Pantries wouldn't function. We are so fortunate to have these caring and helpful volunteers. We also appreciate the Brasstown Community Civic Center's Executive Board for allowing us to use their facility. If you have any questions you can contact Linda Snyder at (828)360-5058. Once again\, if you are experiencing food insecurity please plan to come out and shop with us at The Brasstown Community Civic Center located at 255 Settawig Rd\, Brasstown\, NC.
