What do we mean by climate change, what are the causes, and what effects are climate change having on our world? What do we mean by tipping points? What are the global and local actions to address climate change? How can you take advantage of recent tax and rebate incentives from recently passed legislation? In three two-hour sessions, we will explore this and related topics including the new “clean” energy companies coming to Georgia, groups focused on climate change, and actions you can take.

Vernon is a native Georgian and just turned 77 years old. He was raised in the small southwest Ga town of Quitman and has always loved rural Georgia. He is a medical doctor and a board certified Adult Psychiatrist and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Vernon practiced his unique brand of Christian Psychiatry at Albany Ga and Blairsville Ga till his retirement in 2014. He was the group leader of Citizens’ Climate Lobby in District 9 in Ga for 7 ½ years and has just retired from this position but is still very active in promoting action on climate change and clean energy.

Bob is a retired Mechanical Engineer who has lived in Georgia the past 31 years. He recently took a number of courses at Georgia Tech related to climate change. He has been involved with Citizens’ Climate Lobby for the past four years and is the new group leader for District 9 in Ga.
